Community Learning Center (CLC)
Dear Parents,
I want to recommend an exciting afterschool program at Neil Armstrong Middle School. The program is called the Forest Grove Community Learning Center afterschool program.
In 2009 our school received a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. The purpose of the grant is to provide afterschool activities and services to NAMS students and parents. Many of the activities and services will be offered free of charge. We are very excited about the program because we are interested in keeping students involved in positive, safe, and rewarding activities during the afterschool hours.
Please join us at the Forest Grove Community Learning Center. For more information, please contact the CLC office at Neil Armstrong Middle School at 503-359-2465 5217 or to tsepulveda@fgsd.k12.or.us

| About the CLC | ||
|
The Forest Grove School District was awarded a Federal grant to help us begin, in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club, an after school program that will directly benefit a number of our students. This is the first year that we have the opportunity to provide this great option for many of our students.
The after school program is primarily focused on academic enrichment – specifically math and reading for those children who could use extra support The program also has an activity-based component, and children are given time to play in structured games, enrichment classes and activities as well as take part in arts and crafts, baking, dancing and many other fun classes. How does it work?
Any NAMS student who is interested can register by filling in our registration form and choosing the activities from the activity list. Once registered, they check in the cafeteria between 2:34-3 p.m. and get a snack. From 3-3:50 p.m., students go to their first activity. After a 10-minute break, they go to their second activity until 4:50 p.m. A warm meal is available from 5-5:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., they can be picked up or take the bus home.
Where?
The CLC is at Neil Armstrong Middle School, 1777 Mountain View Lane
When? Monday through Thursday from 2:34 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
